Our Founder
Eric W. Apple is a lawyer with purpose, he is the heart, soul, and principal of Eric Apple Law, PLLC. He is passionate about redefining, revitalizing, and revolutionizing the art of estate and business succession planning, an art he believes is an act of love taken by those who care deeply about their families and a desire to leave a legacy for them. His goal is to make a difference in the lives and families of the people he works with, to serve with excellence and respect to support results that weave intergenerational legacies.
Eric’s guiding principles and drive are derived from his own legacy, part of which is drawn from a collection of his Grandfather’s belongings, notebooks, and ledgers. These seemingly simple possessions deepened his understanding of the importance of the things passed on, and the power it held for generations to come, something he likened to the Ghanaian term ‘Sankofa’. Sankofa translated literally means “it is not taboo to fetch what is at risk of being left behind.”, it is rooted in the belief that the wisdom and learning of the past serve as a guide for planning to ensure a strong future.
Eric is an entrepreneur at heart and wanted to build a business that not only leveraged his strengths, but helped people, so In 2014, Eric used this expertise and his guiding principles to open a private practice, Eric Apple Law, PLLC, to continue helping clients maintain their own wealth, and define and craft their own individual legacies.
Prior to setting up his practice, Eric has consulted with major law firms and financial institutions on varied matters including litigation, investigations, and compliance. Subsequently leveraging his experience and desire to provide personal services, Eric joined a boutique estate planning practice to aid clients in the stewardship of their personal wealth and family legacies. In this position, he provided expert counsel in estate planning, trusts, and probate administration.
In addition to legal expertise, Eric has also had significant experience with business and strategic planning to help individuals and organizations achieve their goals. With an MBA from the Ross School of Business, Eric has worked closely with varied businesses including visual artists, entrepreneurs, and start-ups, as well as international organizations to develop business planning strategies and strategic marketing plans, including early work in Kenya and South Africa.
